PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES (PHEV)

ELECTRIFY YOUR EVERYDAY TRAVEL

WHAT IS A PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLE ?

Like all hybrid vehicles, a Plug-in Hybrid vehicle combines an internal combustion engine with a battery-powered electric motor in order to increase efficiency and reduce emissions (Compared to other non-hybrid combustion engine vehicles.).

Plug-in hybrid vehicles are capable of driving short distances on pure electric power. For example, the Kuga PHEV has an all-electric range of up to 88km (WLTP City Cycle This means fuel economy and lower emissions than other conventional or hybrid engine vehicles).

Typically a Ford Plug-in Hybrid vehicle is best charged at home using a wallbox or standard power socket and the cable provided. It can also be recharged at some public charging stations.

WHY CHOOSE A PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLE ?

DRIVING WITH LOW EMISSIONS

Plug-in Hybrid vehicles enable zero emission driving for distances of up to 56km, whilst providing peace of mind for longer journeys thanks to a supporting petrol engine.

EASY TO RECHARGE

If the battery runs out, you don't have to stop to recharge it. Plug-in Hybrid vehicles are quick and easy to charge at home via a wallbox or standard power outlet and home charging cable.

LOWER FUEL COSTS

The ability to travel short distances on pure electric power translates into fuel savings. Ideal for the daily commute or for taking the kids to school or other short journeys.

CHARGE A PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLE

You can charge your Ford Plug-in Hybrid vehicle via a home wallbox or household socket or at some public charging stations.

Every Ford Plug-in Hybrid vehicle is supplied with a home charging cable for use with standard household sockets. We also offer smart wallboxes, which allow for faster charging than standard outlets.

RANGE OF PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES

Plug-in hybrid vehicles are capable of traveling up to 56 km with zero emissions on a single charge. They are therefore ideal for short journeys, such as the daily city commute at low speeds, but with the support of a conventional engine for longer journeys.

HOW DO PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES WORK ?

Plug-in hybrid vehicles offer two sources of power as they combine a conventional internal combustion engine with a battery-powered electric motor. In addition, our Power-Split hybrid technology connects the petrol engine, electric motor and generator together.

Powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, our plug-in hybrid vehicles offer zero-emissions-only electric power enough for most everyday journeys. They are also efficient vehicles, which ensure lower fuel consumption and significantly lower CO 2 emissions than other conventional non-hybrid engines.

Charging is also simple and can be done via a 230-volt socket, a dedicated wallbox or a public charging station.
